Underberg is a German herbal digestif bitters, 44% ABV, made by Underberg AG in Rheinberg since 1846. It is produced from distilled aromatic herbs sourced in 43 countries, blended to a secret recipe kept by the Underberg family, then matured for several months in Slovenian oak barrels. The result is an amber, intensely herbal, bitter-sweet liqueur with a warming finish.

Its best-known form is the 20 ml single-dose bottle, wrapped in paper, a design introduced in 1949 by Emil Underberg. The bottle shape, colour, packaging and name are all trademarked, and the limited annual metal cases are collected.

Underberg is a digestif, traditionally drunk after a meal. The classic serve is chilled and straight, in a single swallow.
